Dual-duct terminal units are used in a special type of air distribution system where the main system has both warm air and cold air separately ducted to each terminal unit
Parallel blade operation is preferred when the damper accounts for a significant portion of the total system pressure loss. Parallel blades are used when greater control is required near top end of the volume operating range or for system requiring two position operation. Because of uneven airflow, do not use parallel blades upstream of critical components.
Opposed blade operation offers the best control over the entire operating range when the damper does not account for a significant portion of the total system pressure loss. Use opposed operation when it is necessary to maintain an even distribution of air downstream from the damper.
